The next installment of Sony’s baseball franchise, MLB The Show 26, now has an official release date. The game will launch on March 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
While previous entries in the series were included with Xbox Game Pass at launch, that trend may have ended. Games from MLB The Show 21 through MLB The Show 24 were available on Game Pass from day one, but the service did not include MLB The Show 25. Based on current announcements, MLB The Show 26 also does not appear to be launching on the subscription platform.
The official MLB The Show blog only confirms the standard release on the listed platforms without mentioning Game Pass availability. Of course, the possibility of the game joining the service later has not been ruled out.
Players eager to begin their baseball journey early can purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, which provides four days of Early Access starting March 13.
Although detailed gameplay information has not yet been revealed, fans will not have to wait long. A gameplay presentation scheduled for February 3 is expected to provide a closer look at the new mechanics and improvements in this year’s version.
Another key announcement is the game’s cover athlete. Aaron Judge, one of the most dominant hitters in modern baseball and a three-time American League MVP, will once again represent the series. Judge previously appeared on the cover of MLB The Show 18, and his return highlights the theme of building a legendary baseball career in the upcoming game.
