If you're logging in for the anniversary window and suddenly seeing Treasure Goblins all over Sanctuary, yep, March of the Goblins is doing its thing again. The event is basically a loot chase with a reward track bolted on, and that's why people are treating it like a short-term farm instead of a cute side event. Runes, tribute bags, cosmetics that still need proper confirmation, and a Magnificent Spark are the big talking points, especially for players already planning upgrades around Diablo 4 Items while they're smashing goblins between Helltides.
What actually matters in the 2026 event
The clean version is simple. Kill goblins, push event progress, claim rewards somewhere tied to Kyovashad. The messy version is what players are running into. Some folks see pop-ups like a tier being unlocked, then can't find the board afterward. One report came from a player still in Act 3, so campaign status may be blocking the full interface. Not officially nailed down, though.
The Kyovashad hub is reportedly near the waypoint, by a goblin shrine on the left side. If you've skipped or finished the campaign, you're probably fine. If you're still doing story acts, don't be shocked if the shrine or reputation-style board just isn't there. Annoying? Yeah. But Diablo 4 has always been picky about what counts as "endgame ready."
The farm people are copying right now
The Meta: Ride both active Helltides and tag every goblin.
The Snag: Other players delete them before you arrive.
The Fix: Turn off crossplay and bring Subo.
Let's be real here: Half this event is farming goblins, the other half is fighting the UI and your stash space.
Best routes compared| Route | Why players use it | Main catch | | Dual Helltides | Fast open-world loops and steady goblin checks | Shared zones can feel crowded | | Treasure Breach Dungeons | Good goblin density with possible sigil chaining | Greed Shrine timing is unclear | | Infernal Hordes | Can spike progress with the right Chaos Waves | Depends hard on War Plan luck |
The campaign lock question
A lot of players are asking why goblin kills count, but the Kyovashad shrine still won't show up for them.
Most likely, you need to finish or skip the base campaign first. It's community-tested advice, not a Blizzard-confirmed rule yet.
Small tricks that save real time
Subo is worth using if you've got access to him, because his scouting can make goblins show sooner on the minimap. Just don't stare at the new overlay and expect the same magic. Godslayer Crown is another cheeky pick, mostly because pulling enemies together keeps the run clean. For Nightmare Dungeons, look for Treasure Breach, check for a Greed Shrine before killing goblins if possible, then cash out. Infernal Hordes can be silly fast if the purple or middle War Plan path gives more Chaos Waves, but that five-minute clear talk sounds lucky, not normal. Treat the Magnificent Spark as the real prize, keep an eye on tribute bags, and if you're comparing drops or stocking up on D4 items cheap during the event, don't let the goblin chase turn into three hours of town sorting.
